Integrable theories in any dimension: a perspective
We review the developments of a recently proposed approach to study integrable theories in any dimension. The basic idea consists in generalizing the zero curvature representation for two-dimensional integrable models to space-times of dimension d + 1 by the introduction of a d-form connection. The method has been used to study several theories of physical interest, like self-dual Yang-Mills th...
متن کاملA New Approach to Integrable Theories in any Dimension
The zero curvature representation for two dimensional integrable models is generalized to spacetimes of dimension d+1 by the introduction of a d-form connection. The new generalized zero curvature conditions can be used to represent the equations of motion of some relativistic invariant field theories of physical interest in 2 + 1 dimensions (BF theories, Chern-Simons, 2 + 1 gravity and the CP ...
متن کاملIntegrable Theories and Loop Spaces: Fundamentals, Applications and New Developments
We review our proposal to generalize the standard two-dimensional flatness construction of Lax-Zakharov-Shabat to relativistic field theories in d+1 dimensions. The fundamentals from the theory of connections on loop spaces are presented and clarified. These ideas are exposed using mathematical tools familiar to physicists. We exhibit recent and new results that relate the locality of the loop ...
متن کاملResolutions of Segre embeddings of projective spaces of any dimension
This paper deals with syzygies of the ideals of the Segre embeddings. Let d ≥ 3 and n1, ..., nd ∈ N − {0}. We prove that OPn1×....×Pnd (1, ..., 1) satisfies Green-Lazarsfeld’s Property Np if and only if p ≤ 3.
متن کاملConformal Invariance and Integrable Theories
Integrable theories on the lattice having zero energy gap exhibit conformal invariance for long distances. It is shown here how to extract its conformal properties (central charge e and scaling dimensions) from the Bethe ansatz equations. The methods here exposed are applied to the six-vertex model and to the critical Potts model.
